FLFL 2008 complete! - Tuesday, December 23, 2008

Congrats to Bill's Bombs for winning the Fantasy Super Bowl in back-to-back seasons! The 2nd round Manning pick definitely ended up paying off for the Bombs as Manning led the Bombs to victory over the Ballhawks who had star running back DeAngelo Williams and his 4 TDs on his bench. Lesson learned - NEVER bench your studs! Congrats again to the Bombs who had a great season... Newcomer DaWop showed that they'll be a force to be reckoned with for years to come as they SMOKED the Evil Robots by 82 points in the 3rd place game... The Repercussions put together a couple of solid weeks to close out the season and win the Best of the "RESTO" Tourney. And the Well Hung Jury defeated Adam's A-Holes for 3rd place in the BOTR... Carnage Inc DOMINATED in the final 2 weeks to win the Toilet Bowl over the Birdmen, who definitely had one of the more disappointing seasons in recent memory. I was expecting big things from Birdman this season... Here is a link to the Final 2008 Playoff Brackets which can also be found on our schedule page... Below are the final payouts. Have a Merry Christmas and a great offseason!

1 Week Left! - Tuesday, December 16, 2008

It's hard to believe that the season is already coming to a close. It was a wild first week of playoffs which will feature some exciting final week matchups. The Ballhawks thrashed the Evil Robots by 52 points, and the Bombs crushed DaWop by 35 points as the Ballhawks and Bombs will square off in a rematch of last year's Fantasy Super Bowl. The Robots and DaWop will face each other in the 3rd place game... In the Best of the Rest Tourney, the #3 and #4 seeds each upset their opponents as the Repercussions racked up 113 points to defeat the Jury and the Bulldogs squeeked by the A-Holes by ONE POINT! In the Toilet Bowl, Carnage Inc got off to a good start in the 2-week game as they currently hold an 89-77 lead over the Birdmen... There are Thursday and Saturday games so be sure to set your lineup early this week!

Here is another link to the Playoff Brackets which can also be found on our schedule page... Good luck in the final week!

Regular Season is Complete! - Tuesday, December 9, 2008

It was an exciting finish to the regular season as the Ballhawks and DaWop both beat their division rivals to capture their respective division titles. The Ballhawks defeated Bill's Bombs 111-102 on Steve's Smith big Monday night, and the Ballhawks actually broke the FLFL single-season record for Fantasy Power Points with 512.5... DaWop had a clutch Week 14 by racking up high score and defeating the Evil Robots 120-104 to win the NFLC and send the Botz into the Wildcard #2 spot. DaWop will host Bill's Bombs in the first round of the FLFL Super Bowl playoffs, and the Evil Robots will travel to the Ballhawks... Also this week, Well Hung Jury had a solid week to hold onto the #1 Seed in the Best of the Rest Tourney, even though they lost to Adam's A-Holes who ended up with the #2 seed in the BOTR. The Bulldogs and Repercussions each had big wins this week to round off the final 2 seeds of the BOTR... The Birdmen and Carnage Inc will square off in the Toilet Bowl for a two-week battle royale with cheese... Be sure to check out the Playoff Brackets which can also be found on our schedule page... Good luck in the playoffs!

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

DaWop 120 - Robots 104
Ballhawks 111 - Bombs 102
A-Holes 93 - Jury 90
Bulldogs 93 - Birdmen 64
Repercussions 77 - Carnage 44

Week 13 Complete! - Wednesday, December 3, 2008

With only 1 week left in the regular season, it's coming down to the wire in both divisions. In the NFLC, the Robots hold a 13.5 power point lead over DaWop, and in the AFLC, the Ballhawks hold a 23.5 power point lead over the Bombs. But Week 14 always features the top 2 teams in each division squaring off, and this year the winner of each of those games most likely will win their respective divisions! The losers of those games are pretty much guaranteed wilcard spots in the Fantasy Super Bowl playoffs this season (barring a miracle)... Also in Week 14 this season, we have 4 teams squaring off for the final 2 playoff spots in the Best of the Rest Tourney: The Bulldogs, Repercussions, Birdmen, and Carnage. The Bulldogs will play the Birdmen, and the Repercussions will play Carnage in Week 14 to decide who's in the BOTR and who's in the Toilet Bowl... It looks like the Jury and A-Holes have all but locked up the top 2 seeds in the BOTR tourney... In Week 13, the Ballhawks had their 2nd high score in a row led by Deangelo Williams and his 4 TDs. DaWop also had a solid game but the Robots dominated as well to stay atop the NFLC. The Bombs also picked up a nice win to stay within reach of the Ballhawks for the top overall seed... Also this week, a little baby Ballhawk has joined the Ballhawk clan just in time for the playoff run! This week's FITA award - Birdman for getting 5th high score but losing to DaWop.

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

Ballhawks 133 - A-Holes 66
DaWop 125 - Birdmen 93
Robots 121 - Carnage 63
Bombs 114 - Repercussions 77
Jury 82 - Bulldogs 56

Week 12 Complete! - Tuesday, November 25, 2008

The Ballhawks defeated division nemesis Bill's Bombs by racking up 142 points with a well-balanced attack led by Matt Forte's 140+ yards and 2 TDs. The Bombs and Ballhawks will square off again in Week 14 to most likely decide the #1 seed for the playoffs. The Ballhawks currently have a 13.5 Power Point lead over the Bombs... Another divisional battle royale ("with cheese!")* featured the Evil Robots and DaWop with the Botz squeeking out a 2 point victory to extend their NFLC division lead over DaWop to 16.5 Power Points. The Robots and DaWop will likely square off again in Week 14 to perhaps decide the NFLC crown... Well Hung Jury also won their game this week to stay within striking distance of both the NFLC lead and a Wildcard spot... In other news, the Birdmen ended an 8-game losing streak by defeating Ben's Bulldogs and stay within reach of the final seed of the Best of the Rest Tourney. The Repercussions currently hold the final BOTR spot with their huge victory over Carnage Inc 120-83. Perhaps the Repercussions are peaking at the right time?!? If you analyze the scores this week, this was actually a pretty strange week as 7 of the teams scored between 89 and 99 points... This week's FITA award goes to the Bombs who tied for 3rd high score but felt the wrath of the Ballhawks, and also for having Michael Turner and his 4 TDs on his bench... Don't forget about the NFL games this Thursday - get your lineup in!

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

Ballhawks 142 - Bombs 99
Repercussions 120 - Carnage 83
Birdmen 99 - Bulldogs 89
Robots 98 - DaWop 96
Jury 96 - A-Holes 89

Week 11 Complete! - Tuesday, November 18, 2008

It was a pretty high scoring week as 8 teams each racked up 90 or more points. Marion Barber III carried Adam's A-Holes to a victory over the Repercussions and high score for Week 11 as MB3 ended up with 150+ yards, 6 catches, and a TD. The A-Holes have now closed the gap on a wildcard spot which is still up for grabs with only 3 weeks left. The Evil Robots also had a nice week as they had 2nd high score and took over the NFLC lead over DaWop by 4 Fantasy Power Points. DaWop also picked up a W this week but didn't score enough points to hold onto the division lead. The Jury had a horrible week but are still in striking distance of the Robots and DaWop... In other news, the Bulldogs had a nice victory over the Ballhawks this week and Carnage a nice victory over the Bombs. The AFLC looks like it too will come down to the wire between the Bombs and Ballhawks as they will most likely square off 2 more times in these remaining 3 weeks, and only 10.5 power points currently separate the two... It was difficult to find someone worthy of the FITA award this week as the top 5 scoring teams all won their games. I suppose it kinda sucked that the Jury had Cassel and his 40+ points on his bench, although the Jury still would have lost. But Cassel's 40+ points (400 passing yards, 60+ rushing yards, 3 TDs, 2-pt conversion) is the highest scoring game of the season.

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

A-Holes 117 - Repercussions 64
Robots 111 - Birdmen 93
Bulldogs 109 - Ballhawks 91
DaWop 101 - Jury 52
Carnage 100 - Bombs 90

Week 10 Complete! - Tuesday, November 11, 2008

It was an exciting Week 10 with some close games, some surges in the standings, and some continued domination by Bill's Bombs. The Bombs had their 2nd consecutive high score led by Adrian Peterson's 30 points. The Bombs extended their AFLC lead to 11.5 points. In the NFLC, only 6 Fantasy Power Points currently separate the top 3 teams as DaWop is hanging on to the division lead by a thread. DaWop had the lowest score this week, and the Evil Robots and Well Hung Jury each had good weeks and exciting close games to close the gap on DaWop. The Robots had a huge day out of Anquan Boldin on Monday Night Football to squeek by the Bulldogs 96-95, and the Jury got just enough production out of Tim Hightower on MNF to hold off the feisty Birdmen 104-102. In other news, the Ballhawks kept within striking distance of the Bombs by defeating division rival Carnage Inc, and the Repercussions also picked up a W. This week's FITA award goes to Birdman who had 4th high score but lost to the Jury. This is Birdman's 3rd FITA award so far this season.

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

Bombs 126 - A-Holes 91
Jury 104 - Birdmen 102
Ballhawks 103 - Carnage 76
Robots 96 - Bulldogs 95
Repercussions 90 - DaWop 72

Week 9 Complete! - Wednesday, November 5, 2008

It was a relatively low scoring Week 9 but the Bombs still managed to rack up a whopping 138 points led by rookie Chris Johnson's 161 yards, 6 catches, and 1 TD. The Bombs' huge Week 9 surged themselves back atop the AFLC with a 2.5 power point lead over the Ballhawks. The Evil Robots also had a solid Week 9 by defeating division rival Well Hung Jury 115-96 to leapfrog the Botz back into a wild card spot. In other news, DaWop squeeked out a W over the Bulldogs 81-78, and Carnage Inc picked up a W against Adam's A-Holes... This week's FITA award goes to the Jury for getting 3rd high score but losing to the Botz.

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

Bombs 138 - Birdmen 48
Robots 115 - Jury 96
Ballhawks 88 - Repercussions 71
DaWop 81 - Bulldogs 78
Carnage 78 - A-Holes 65

Week 8 Complete! - Tuesday, October 28, 2008

It was a high scoring week as 5 teams scored over 100 pts, and 7 teams racked up 92 or more points. DaWop dominated in Week 8 led by Brian Westbrook's 209 yards, 6 catches, and 2 TDs. This was DaWop's 3rd high score of the season. The Birdmen also had a great week and had a bold prediction on the message board, but came up just 8 points short as Birdman felt the wrath of DaWop... The Jury also had a great week as Matt racked up 114 points and surged into a Wildcard spot and kept within striking distance of DaWop for the NFLC lead. Also this week, the Ballhawks handed division rival Bill's Bombs his first loss of the season to surge into first place in the AFLC and first place overall... The A-Holes avenged a difficult Week 7 loss by defeating the Evil Robots 103-94 in a high scoring affair... There is definitely a VITC award this week as the Repercussions had 2nd low score but managed to pick up a W against Benjammin's Bulldogs. This week's FITA award goes to the Birdmen who had 3rd high score but lost to DaWop... Check out the new Win-Loss Records Page. It has no effect on the outcome of the FLFL, but it's kind of fun to look at. It will update automatically after each week is complete. Note that there is also a link to the win-loss page from our standings page.

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

DaWop 121 - Birdmen 113
Jury 114 - Carnage 84
Ballhawks 106 - Bombs 92
A-Holes 103 - Robots 94
Repercussions 72 - Bulldogs 54

Week 7 Complete! - Tuesday, October 21, 2008

We are officially at the halfway point of the regular season! It was an exciting Week 7 as the Ballhawks got high score led by Stephen Jackson's 170+ yards and 3 TDs. The Jury felt the wrath of the Ballhawks this week as they lost 101-131 in a high scoring affair. The Bombs also had a nice week as they racked up 119 points in a blowout over the Repercussions... The game of the week featured the Bulldogs versus the A-Holes with the Bulldogs coming out victorious by ONE POINT 88-87! In other news, the Robots continued their winning ways by defeating DaWop, and Carnage wins the VITC award this week by getting 4th low score but defeating the Birdmen... This week's FITA award goes to the Well Hung Jury who had 3rd high score but lost to the Ballhawks... The divisional races are currently looking interesting, especially in the NFLC where only 27 Fantasy Power Points separates 1st through 4th place. In the AFLC, the Bombs currently have a 4.5 point lead over the Ballhawks and there's a huge dropoff to 3rd place. Just about everybody is within striking distance of a Wildcard spot, and remember that the season is still young! A few high scores in a row can do wonders!

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

Ballhawks 131 - Jury 101
Bombs 119 - Repercussions 76
Bulldogs 88 - A-Holes 87
Robots 83 - DaWop 69
Carnage 80 - Birdmen 43

Week 6 Complete! - Tuesday, October 14, 2008

The Evil Robots surged back in action in Week 6 by racking up high score and defeating the Ballhawks 129-124 in a high scoring affair. The Robots were led by Thomas Jones and his 3 TDs as the Botz have surged into the Wildcard #2 position - although the season is still young! Also in Week 6, the Bombs defeated DaWop 113-108 in another high scoring affair to hold onto the AFLC lead... In other news, the A-Holes rebounded nicely in Week 6 after a disappointing Week 5 to defeat the Birdmen who just can't seem to get things going. Also this week, the Bulldogs played well enough to rack up 92 points and defeat the Jury in a close contest. The Repercussions had luck on their side this week as they managed to squeek out a W over Carnage even with 2nd low score - definitely deserving of the VITC award (anybody figure out what that means yet?)... This week's FITA award goes to the Ballhawks who racked up 2nd high score but lost to the Evil Robots. The 'Hawks are now 3-3 on the season with their 3 losses having a margin of defeat of only 11 points total. Good thing the fantasy power point system has allowed me to keep "hanging around, hanging around"!

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

Robots 129 - Ballhawks 124
Bombs 113 - DaWop 108
A-Holes 98 - Birdmen 78
Bulldogs 92 - Jury 82
Repercussions 78 - Carnage 69

Week 5 Complete! - Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Newcomer DaWop racked up his 2nd consecutive high score in Week 5 with a pretty balanced scoring attack led by TJ Houshyourmama and his 7 catches, 85 yards & 2 TDs. DaWop extended his NFLC lead to 33 Fantasy Power Points. The Ballhawks got 2nd high score for the 2nd week in a row to defeat the Repercussions and close the gap a bit more on the Bombs, who also had a nice Week 5. In other news, Well Hung Jury continues to put points on the board even with some of their top players on the injured list. Matt defeated Dave 101-82 as the preseason favorite Birdmen are looking to step it up a notch after a slow start to the season... This week's FITA award goes to - hmmmm - nothing stands out for the FITA award. Let's give a "Reverse FITA" award this week (maybe call it the "VITC" award) to the Bulldogs who got 3rd low score but defeated the Evil Robots who had 3 bye-week players and 2 injured players in his lineup to rack up a whopping 33 points this week. Come on Robot!

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

DaWop 118 - Carnage 81
Ballhawks 109 - Repercussions 87
Bombs 102 - A-Holes 64
Jury 101 - Birdmen 82
Bulldogs 71 - Robots 33

Week 4 Complete! - Tuesday, September 30, 2008

It was an exciting Week 4 as DaWop racked up the highest game total of the season thus far with 129 points to defeat division rival Well Hung Jury. DaWop is now on top of the NFLC with a 5 point lead on the Evil Robots. And all of this with Coles (3 TDs & 100+ yards) on DaWop's bench! The Ballhawks also had a nice week by racking up 126 points to defeat the Birdmen in a close contest and close the gap on the Bombs AFLC lead to only 6.5 power points... In other news, the Robots defeated the Repercussions in a semi-close contest but may have lost Boldin for a few weeks, and the Bombs defeated the Bulldogs handily. Also, the A-Holes beat Carnage Inc with Favre and his 6 TDs on his bench! There goes Favre's consecutive starts streak... This week's FITA award goes to the Birdmen for getting 3rd high score but losing to the Ballhawks.

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

DaWop 129 - Jury 103
Ballhawks 126 - Birdmen 116
Robots 93 - Repercussions 80
Bombs 90 - Bulldogs 62
A-Holes 85 - Carnage 69

Week 3 Complete! - Wednesday, September 24, 2008

The Well Hung Jury bounced back from some early season injuries to rack up high score this week, led by Reggie Bush and his 148 yards, 11 catches, 2 TDs, and 2 lap dances. The Ballhawks also had a nice week as they defeated the A-Holes in a close matchup for their first win of the season. In other news, the Bombs continued their dominance as they beat division rival Carnage Inc. Also, the Bulldogs won a CLOSE matchup versus DaWop with a 94-93 victory. And the preseason favorite Birdmen finally picked up a W this week... The AFLC looks like the powerhouse divison three weeks into the season as there are 3 (almost 4) teams with more Fantasy Power Points than the division leaders in the NFLC (Bulldogs and Robots are currently tied for 1st)... This week's FITA award goes to DaWop who lost by 1 point and lost 1st round pick Westbrook in the first quarter after only gaining 12 yards.

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

Jury 111 - Robots 68
Ballhawks 110 - A-Holes 103
Bombs 95 - Carnage 76
Bulldogs 94 - DaWop 93
Birdmen 83 - Repercussions 75

Week 2 Complete! - Tuesday, September 16, 2008

The Evil Robots dominated in Week 2 led by Anquan Boldin's 140 yards and 3 TDs. Boogs' 3 wide receivers racked up a total of 74 points! DaWop also had a good Week 2 as Brian Westbrook carried his team on Monday Night Football to victory over the Ballhawks 123-118. More on that later! The Bombs continued their hot start out of the gate to defeat the Jury and stay on top of the AFLC, but Carnage closed the gap a bit by racking up 101 points for his 2nd win in as many games. In other news, the A-Holes also are now 2-0 as they crushed the Repercussions 99-62. This week's FITA award goes to the yours truly whose wide receiver DeSean Jackson celebrated his long would-be touchdown a bit early on MNF, dropped the ball on the 1-yard line, and allowed Westbrook to score an easy TD to propel DaWop to a 5-point win over the Ballhawks! Dangit!

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

Robots 125 - Birdmen 88
DaWop 123 - Ballhawks 118
Carnage 101 - Bulldogs 91
Bombs 100 - Jury 83
A-Holes 99 - Repercussions 62

Week 1 Complete! - Tuesday, September 9, 2008

It was an exciting first week as the Bombs jumped out of the gate with high score led by 6th round pick Michael Turner (of the Falcons, not the Chargers as shown in the picture!) and his 220+ yards and 2 TDs to defeat the Evil Robots in a high scoring affair. The Repercussion also had a nice Week 1 by racking up 112 points good for 2nd high score to take down the Well Hung Jury. Also this week, the Bulldogs handled the Birdmen 89-69, Carnage Inc SQUEEKED by the Ballhawks 88-87, and the A-Holes had a good first week to defeat DaWop 87-64. This week's FITA award goes to two owners - the Evil Robots and Well Hung Jury. The Evil Robots racked up 3rd high score but lost to the Bombs, and they had Willie Parker and his 138 yards & 3 TDs on his bench. Fast Willie already has more TDs this year than he had all of last year! And Well Hung Jury lost his first round pick Tom Brady for the season. Ouch!

Below are this week's matchups. Be sure to check the standings page. Good luck next week!

Bombs 114 - Robots 94
Repercussions 112 - Jury 68
Bulldogs 89 - Birdmen 69
Carnage 88 - Ballhawks 87
A-Holes 87 - DaWop 64

2008 FLFL Predictions! - Wednesday, September 3, 2008

NFLC

1. Birdmen - What's not to like about the Birdmen yet again this year? Tomlinson could carry this team all by himself, but on top of that Birdman also drafted a top QB (Romo), another stud RB (McGahee), and a few studly WRs in Chad Johnson and Roy Williams. If Chad Johnson can have a healthy season with that shoulder injury, look out for the Birdmen this year. Bddddddddddda!

2. Evil Robots - I like the Evil Robots squad alot this year. Are you kidding me with those three studly receivers?!? Terrell Owens, Torry Holt, and Anquan Boldin look pretty impressive on paper. Throw in Frank "Al" Gore and Thomas "I love Brett Favre" Jones and this squad could do some major damage. We might all need to purchase robot insurance this season.

3. Well Hung Jury - This "low" ranking of 3rd place in the NFLC is strictly based on my prediction that Tom Brady's stats will come back down to earth this season. If Brady has a season even close to last year's, the Jury will runaway with the crown. Matt drafted some other solid players to go along with Brady in Portis, Reggie "Seven" Bush(es), Colston, and Rowdy Roddy White. I rue the day that I have to face the J-J-J-Jury!

4. Benjammin's Bulldogs - The ever-changing mascot continues once again this year as last year's "Dawg Pound" is now back to the "Bulldogs" from a few year's ago. And previous owner "Ben" has sold the team to some new guy named "Benjammin"! All kidding aside, Ben could easily be at the top of this division by year's end. McNabb, Addai, Jones-Drew, Marvin "Ben" Harrison, Burress, and Winslow will carry this squad and don't be surprised if my predictions are off on this squad. I believe the #4 team in my predictions often finishes near the top!

5. DaWop - I actually really like the "new guy's" team this year. But as we all know, newbies always struggle in the FLFL so let's see if Jeff can prove this theory wrong! It looks like DaWop will be going run-and-shoot often this year as they are stacked with alot of solid WRs in Fitzgerald, Houshyourmama, Jennings, and Lavooorneoos Coles. Throw in fantasy stud Westbrook and Carson Palmer and DaWop should win lots of games this season.

AFLC

1. Resto's Repercussions - Dedo put together a solid squad this year by drafting Moss, Brees, and Grandmama Johnson with his first three picks. Add to the mix Maroney and Hines Ward and we'll all be in for a world of diggler-style pain!

2. Bill's Bombs - The Bombs look like they could dominate again this season as they started their draft with Adrian Peterson of the Vikings, and followed up that pick with Andre Johnson and Peyton Manning. What a great start to a team! If Wes Welker can come back earlier than expected and Bill gets some production out of his young guys, the Bombs will blow teams up once again this season..

3. Adam's A-Holes - Adam may have the best 1-2 punch of RBs by season's end in Marion Barber the Third and Ryan Grant and as we all have learned having a solid 1-2 punch at RB can carry a squad all by itself. Add in some WRs with upside in Jerricho Crotchery, Darrell Jackson, and Bryant Johnson, and the A-Holes could be sticking it to many teams this season. Oh, and who did Adam take this year as his starting QB? Just some dude on the New York Jets.

4. Carnage, Inc. - Even though Carnage has no "superstar" (Dustin's words), I think there is alot of potential on this team. I really like Lynch and Wayne, and the Roethlisberger to SanAntonio Holmes looks pretty deadly. There are also a few young up-and-comers with alot of potential this season so don't be surprise if Carnage shocks us all!

5. Ballhawks - You know I do like my #1 RB (S.Jackson) and top 2 WRs (Edwards & S.Smith) but I have alot of question marks on the rest of my squad. I really reached on Calvin Johnson, and I'm banking on 2 young and inexperienced QBs to carry me (Cutler and Aaron Rodgers). Too much risk on this team. As I said at the draft, I'll either finish 1st or 10th this year!

Lottery Results - Saturday, August 16, 2008

It was another exciting lottery. Below are the results:

1. Birdmen (2nd year in a row!)
2. Bombs (When was the last time Bill had lower than pick 4?!?)
3. DaWop (Beginners luck!)
4. Resto's Repercussions (You'll be able to get your man here, Dedo!)
5. Ben's Bulldogs (Ben says this is his favorite pick this year!)
6. Ballhawks (I think this is the 3rd time in the past 5 years I've had pick 6!)
7. Well Hung Jury (Don't steal Adam's guy, Matt!)
8. Adam's A-Holes (Don't steal Matt's guy on the way back, Adam!)
9. Evil Robots (2nd year in a row Boogs got pick 9!)
10. Carnage Inc (Don't be discouraged Dustin. The Ballhawks racked up 500 power points last season with pick 10!)
